Phu Quoc island of Vietnam

I’m sincerely thankful to have you in my Blog. Today I’m gonna tell you a story of my journey to Phu Quoc island in Vietnam. Here we go….

Firstly, I highly recommend you to book a domestic flight from Ho Chi Minh city/ Hanoi city to Phu Quoc island through Traveloka. Because the price for domestic flights in Vietnam via this app is cheaper than Agoda/, you can refer to it.

Secondly, for the accommodation, I chose to live in a Ninila Fruit bungalow at Phu Quoc island (you can find it here) . I rented a bungalow there for some reasons: (i) I truly don’t like the crowd so I’m not interested in the center of Phu Quoc island; (ii) I prefer exploring something new and being closer to nature. This hotel meets my need with a lot of trees and birds and get closer with the locals here; (ii) it took me a few minutes to go to the beach and this bungalow also has a swimming pool, I really love lying down on the bed and taking a deep breath in the morning; (iii) the price is much cheaper than the hotels in the center, and if you plan to have a long period of time here, you can negotiate with the owner there; (iv) if you wanna find a place for both working and relaxing, this bungalow is a good choice for you.

However, this place still has some negative things: (i) the wifi is not too strong if you have an online meeting, you should ask the receptionists about where you can get it or you can bring your own devices; (ii) this place is quite far from the center of Phu Quoc island, but it’s just about 20 minutes to ride a motorbike, and if you go from the International Phu Quoc airport, you will go through the center of Phu Quoc island on the way to this hotel because this hotel is in the North side and the international airport is on the Southern. However, there’s a plus on the road is that it’s very big, clean and you can enjoy the daily activities of the locals along the road.

Thirdly, I suggest you hiring a motorbike when you go to Phu Quoc island, because it’s easier for you to come around and take a look at this island. I contacted 247 shop (you can see it here) to hire a motorbike at the airport and used it for going to the Ninila Fruit bungalow. It makes me feel much safer and more convenient for arriving in Phu Quoc island at night as well as saves me a lot of money to take a taxi.

Fourthly, I’m extremely passionate about the beauty of this island, I went some places here (for your reference):

1. Khem beach

This beach is so nice. It’s free for you to sunbathe, swim, especially take photos. Although I was born in the beach area and I went many famous beaches in Vietnam, its beauty freaked me out.

2. Phu Quoc prison

It’s relatively close to Khem Beach, you can discover it to be highly historical, and you might find a lot of historical evidence of Vietnam. The fact that we can visit this location for free is a significant one.

3. Hon Thom

The water park and outdoor activities are one of the key points that you can take advantage there. It would be better for you to buy a tour for a day on your own (here) rather than some recommended tour at the night market, because the cost and schedule are both very apparent. I decided to purchase the ticket online, received a scan code and and simply waited for the time to arrive. But there’s a tip here that you should book a tour above a day in advance of your deadline to obtain a good deal.

The most well-known brand name connected to Phu Quoc island is Vinpearl, which is produced by one of the largest Vietnamese businesses. There’s a quote “The best education I’ve had in my life is to travel”, and so “Why don’t you go to this place for gaining the hands-on experience?”. You may take a look at “Vietnamese products” and unwind for a while. I advise you to go early in the day so you can spend more time playing around. You might be excited to go by cable and feel the waves beneath your feet.

Finally, for the food, I don’t experience something “WOA” to share with you, but I can go to the Phu Quoc night market to enjoy it. I may be a Vietnamese girl and I get used to the seafood in my hometown so I’m so sorry that I don’t have something speacial to talk 😜.

It’s all about everything for you guys to have an opportunity to explore Phu Quoc island by yourself.

Or, if all you want to do is unwind on Phu Quoc island, you may select a trip that includes a nice hotel, outdoor activities, food, and transportation. If you want to go on a long vacation, you should think about taking a tour because it will provide you access to many discounts and allow you to experience “luxury” travel in a different way.
