Hello guys,

Welcome back to my blog. Today I’m gonna introduce to you about a mountainous place that is discovered by a local – a Vietnamese girl. With an independent review, I will give some tips to travel here. Let’s go!

My schedule began at the Noi Bai international airport, I took a couple cabin straight to Sapa city. Because I didn’t want to spend the money on one night at a hotel and I wanted to start my day visiting the city without spending too much time on transportation, I chose to take a bus at night.

I had experienced the different bus from Hanoi airport to Sapa city and vice versa: (1) G8 SAPA: this bus is very new and the bus service is very good (it has the massage seat for you, it’s so comfortable on it). When they gave me the guidance to take a bus, it’s very polite. When I got into the bus, I was so surprised with the fragrance of the essential oil and it also gave us everything in private. From the Hanoi airport to Sapa City and vice versa, I’ve used 02 types of buses, including: (1) G8 SAPA, which is extremely new and offers excellent bus service (it includes massage seats that are quite pleasant). They were really courteous when they tried to pick me up at the airport. The aroma of the essential oil welcomed me onto the bus and amazed me with how private everything was. It cost 650.000 VND/ 2 people/ 1 cabin for a couple’s cabin; (2) Sao Viet is quite ancient and the bus service isn’t as good as G8 SAPA. Although it was more expensive than G8 SAPA, there were no superior services; a couple’s cabin cost 750.000 VND/ 2 people/ 1 cabin. If you’re traveling alone to Sapa City, you can also choose for a single cabin at a lower cost.

I highly recommend you to live in Gao House & Coffee, you can get the link here to book it in advance. When I came around after taking off the bus early in the morning, I suddenly figured this hotel out, and it was so amazing. Here are some reasons: (1) This hotel’s pricing is exceptionally low, but the quality of the service is excellent; (2) The hotel’s service, atmosphere, location, and employees are all excellent in line with the cost of the stay; (3) It offers a full of equipment and wifi for you to have a long period of day here; (4) If you go there in the winter, it’s so great due to the mountainous view with the cold weather in the trees early in the morning. This hotel is one of my experiences where I wanted to heat my food early in the morning and I was given a warm welcome from the staff there, in addition to being able to check out and have a seat to wait for the bus.

I’d like to recommend that you visit the BBQ restaurant “May Lau Nuong tu chon (coffee)” for cuisine in Sapa City. This address is 02 Fansipan Sapa in Sapa City, Lao Cai Province, and it is directly across from Sun Plaza (the yellow building in the lower right corner of the image). Despite being in the middle, this restaurant offers a budget-friendly menu that features regional cuisine and wine. Check the pricing, the meat, and the mushrooms first for sure, and then go get more food. When I was there, I was astonished by the product’s pricing and quality. This is the first time I’ve experienced excellent barbecue fare like this, and both the vegetables and the meat are incredibly tasty and fresh. I remembered this taste a lot after coming back to my city. You may find the food video in my Tiktok channel (@easytravelwithjai).

You cannot go to Sapa city without going to Fansipan, thus I advise taking the cables to Fansipan for the scenery. It is both the tallest mountain in South East Asia and a symbol of this city. There is only one way for you to go to Fansipan by Sun World cable, you should book the ticket in advance by clicking here and choosing your schedule. There are a lot of local agencies that offers to sell you this ticket, but you had better get the ticket from the above official link because you can get the confirmation from the Sun World staffs. You take the QR code and go to Sun Plaza (the yellow building in the above picture) to access the top of Fansipan.

You can purchase one of two types of tickets to ascend Fansipan: (1) if you like exploring the beauty of this mountainous area, I advise you to take the ticket of two thirds road (just cable ticket), as the way to get its top is a three thirds road and you can have a one third road for walking step by step. It’s not too tough for you to get the top but the changing seasons and the beauty of nature are so magnificient (I also witnessed an elderly person climbing every step to reach the top of this road). (2) If you don’t have enough time to enjoy the nature step by step, you can buy the three thirds road to get its top by both the cables and train.

Here are a few of my other travel advices: (1) You should visit Fansipan in the winter (some of the first days of December) to take advantage of the place’s cold climate and cloud cover; (2) You should go after 10am because the earlier you go, the more things you might miss due to the cloud cover; (3) You should wear a raincoat if you can’t handle the cold weather.

I hope you will enjoy this trip to Sapa city of Vietnam. If you have more experience, please feel free to share with me. Thank you so much for your visiting.
